With smoking grooves\, served up with hot harmonica and smooth stinging guitar they play original songs peppered with nods to Slim Harpo\, Little Walter\, Jimmy Rogers\, Billy Boy Arnold\, Junior Wells and the three Kings. \nBorn and raised on south side of Chicago\, the Rev  has been playing the blues since 1971 when he first saw Freddy King play at the Kinetic Theatre in Chicago. After 15 year hitch in the Navy\, Chief Raven moved to Milwaukee where he began a long friendship and collaboration with Madison Slim\, long time harmonica player for Jimmy Rogers.

Hummel took up an interest in blues harp & rock-blues music in high school but soon discovered the originators like Muddy Waters\, Sonny Boy Williamson & Little Walter. Soon after\, Hummel frequented the Ash Grove club on Melrose Ave. in LA where he saw (in a three month period) three blues legends he would later work with on a regular basis; Charlie Musselwhite\, Brownie McGhee (w/Sonny Terry) & James Cotton. By 1985 Mark Hummel’s Blues Survivors hit the road full time & continue till the present (Hummel’s memoir\, “Big Road Blues: 12 Bars on I-80” recounts many road exploits). Hummel’s been featured on over thirty recordings since 1985 including his 2014 Blind Pig Records\, Remembering Little Walter (a recording of a Hummel Blues Harp Blowout.) The CD was nominated for a Grammy Award and won two Blues Music Awards. Hummel’s most recent release\, “ Road Dog” \, album that redefines the scope and beauty of what the instrument is capable of in the right hands. \n“Mark Hummel is a harmonica God” – Blues Revue \n“Hummel\, a specialist in West Coast Blues\, knows a thing or two about about how to please an audience” – New Yorker \n“Hummel plays the harmonica with the fat\, full sound that made Little Walter sound almost like a saxophonist rather than a harp man”. -Chicago Sun-Times. \nBilly Flynn is the Grammy winning guitarist on Cadillac Reconds and Beyoncé’s version of “At Last”. Billy is on over 200 blues recordings and performances of Kim Wilson\, Cash Box Kings\, Legendary Blues Band\, Pinetop Perkins\, Jimmy Dawkins\, Otis Rush\, Jimmy Rogers\, Kieth Richards\, James Cotton and Eric Clapton.  Flynn is a Delmark Records artist & a multi instrumentalist. \nBrazilian musician Rodrigo Mantovani is a four time BMA bass playing nominee-he plays with Nick Moss\, Jontavious Willis\, Big Creek Slim\, Curtis Salgado and others. The band is nothing short of unique\, putting out whatever they damn well please\, but maintaining a sound somewhere within the realm of jam bands\, jazz\, funk\, and much more” Breaking and Entering – Milwaukee\n \n \nBio: Frugal Stu & the Coupons is a proto-post-ironic disco-funk-fusion band from the future\, hailing from Milwaukee\, WI. Starting in fall of 2017\, the band began constantly practicing and writing new music. The band’s music is the brainchild of keyboard player and composer Glenn McCormick who creates music that has been described by Breaking & Entering – Milwaukee as “ the perfect pallets for incredibly gifted musicians to shine for their individual talents.” These gifted musicians include guitarist Connor Peck\, John Julka on the Fender bass\, with Keenan McAuliffe and Zach Hubert producing deep grooves from the rhythm section.  Together they create a sound that is palpable and contagious to the ear! \nThe Coupons hit the ground running on writing and within their first year together they put out two releases\, Discount EP & Liquidation EP\, with the production of Higher Education Records Moses Pelman and Godxilla. Liquidation went on to be a finalist for 88.9’s “Best Disc We Missed”.. The album also included the talents of Frugal Stu on the vocal track “Closeout” and saxophonist Sean Hirthe of Soul Low on the track “Cleanup on aisle J”. In early 2019\, the Coupons again entered the studio at Higher Education Records to record their anticipated 3rd release and first full album titled Chapter 7. The record shows a new side of the band. This album embraces even more musical influences into their style\, from psychedelic rock to bluegrass. The seven track LP is a sonic cacophony that takes the listener on a rollercoaster filled with different time signatures\, latin-funk percussion\, psychedelic keyboards\, and ear-busting guitar solos in the same light of Trey Anastasio of Phish. While the record highlights the individual talents of the members\, each song contains catchy hooks and rhythms that keep the listener entranced for the full 44 minutes.  \nThe band’s most recent release\, a four song EP titled “Arcane”\, released during the summer of 2025 which includes some fresh vocal tracks from the bands newest member\, Pat Mullen. You won’t want to miss them as they make their way around the midwest!

He started his first band at age 13 with classmates\, inspired by the British invasion bands like The Beatles\, Rolling Stones\, and The Zombies. His musical journey continued through high school\, even taking him to Nashville\, Tennessee\, to record with one group. Zaffiro later pursued jazz\, enrolling in the inaugural Jazz Performance Degree Program at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in 1973\, where he studied improvisation under pianist Tony King and master guitarist Manty Ellis. He also spent a summer studying with world renowned guitarist Joe Pass. During his time at the Conservatory\, he collaborated with fellow students and teachers\, performing at local jazz clubs. He went on to join groups such as Montage Project\, the Tony Pagano Quartet\, and co-founded Rainbow’s End with Marcia Cunningham. Zaffiro also served as a Jazz Educator at the Conservatory. His performances have spanned venues like Alpine Valley Music Festival\, Milwaukee Summerfest\, Potawatomi Northern Lights Theatre\, Belfry Music Theatre\, and even extended to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Today\, he continues to perform both solo and with various ensembles\, including Jazz Flux and the Jane Taylor Band. \nVocalist-Paula Marie Bynum is a powerhouse vocalist whose electrifying blend of soul\, R&amp;B\, blues\, reggae\, jazz\, and pop/rock has lit up stages across Milwaukee and around the world. Rooted in the church and performing professionally since eighteen\, Paula brings a fire and authenticity that audiences feel instantly.
